WCOHRC!!! West Central Ohio Hunting Retriever Club is the oldest hunting Retriever club in Ohio. We have been training and testing dogs for over twenty years. We strive to bring good friends and great dogs together in the same venue.

The WCOHRC was "conceived by hunters for hunters" to train and test our dogs in true life hunting situations. Those at our local level train for those real life hunting situations as well as basic fundamental training drills.
  • West Central Ohio HRC has been a charter member of the National Hunting Retriever Club, Inc since 1986.
  • Is affiliated with the United Kennel Club (UKC), Inc, the world's largest working dog registry.
  • UKC, Inc. licenses our hunts, maintains our retriever's points and awards the titles that our retrievers earn.
In the spring of the year WCOHRC holds our annual hunt test awarding ribbons, pride, and titles. We draw friends from all over the country to our tests. We always have a great time meeting new friends, and swapping stories with the old friends. While retriever training books and videos are helpful, training with a group of people allows you to meet others who have had, or, are experiencing the same training issues you are having. Plus, many of the people with whom you train will motivate you to improve the skills of your dog. All this training truly pays off when the ducks are circling, your heart is pounding, and your little buddy is shaking with anticipation to leap into the frigid water to make it's master proud.

Evan Graham Seminar

West Central Ohio HRC just held an Evan Graham seminar on July 29th & 30th. It was a blast. We had 25 to 30 people there for the seminar.There were 4 pro dog trainers there that all said they were glad they attended. I am certain everyone there learned a lot about dogs, dog training, and themselves as handlers and trainers.
West Central Ohio HRC certainly appreciates all the people and volunteers that made the seminar possible. We, also, appreciate Evan driving 10 hours giving us such a spectacular seminar.
We as a hunting retriever club look forward to bringing you more opportunities to make you and your dog a better team, so keep checking out the website for more seminars and events.

2012 Hunting Season

The 2012 hunting season is just around the corner. Blind draws will be happening in a couple of weeks. Decoys will be pulled out of the attic to be cleaned. You will be brushing up on your shooting. The list goes on and on.
Dont't forget about your four legged friend. If you haven't been training at all this summer at least get rover out and do some tune-up drills. Both of you will have a better hunting season.
