In Memory Of The Dogs We've Lost

HRCH UH Field Of Dreams Colby Cheese 11/09/2003 - 4/06/2007

ColbyOwned by Chris Valentie. Colby passed 17 consecutive finished test and 4 upland test. He had a great personality and was an incredible hunting machine. He passed on while having his teeth cleaned at the vets office. He will be missed by family, friends, and anyone who enjoyed great dog work. A special thanks to Carolyn Elam he loved being with you.

HR Meglyn's Blue Ridge Belle MH 9/21/03-7/19/08

BelleOwned by Don Smith. Belle passed on much too soon. I loved her fire and passion for her work. She was a handful at the line and that sometimes got her into trouble, but I knew it was only because all she could think of was retrieving. And she did love to run. She wanted to run so big that I had plans to enter her in Qualifying stakes had she lived. She was tiny and didn't even reach 55 lbs until she was 2 years old, but she had no problem carrying her first goose at 14 months and 51 lbs., her heart and desire were so great. It seems sometimes with fiery dogs, they run so hot that their flame burns out too soon. I miss you Baby Girl.

HR Meglyn's Silverado Slim SH (Chevy) 1/8/02-7/20/06

ChevyOwned by Don Smith. Chevy was a big guy and loved to hunt so. When I came home in mid-July 2006 and found him suffering from gastric torsion, I knew it would be difficult. He had such a heart and tried so hard. He lasted 8 days and went through 2 surgeries. His surgeons thought he was on the way to recovery, but the next morning he had a relapse and I was told that the damage was too great. I laid down next to him and held him, saying goodbye as one of his surgeons eased his suffering. I am so thankful that Chevy and I had that last teal hunt together before he died. The photo that I took has become a signature photo for me. We'll go hunting again someday, buddy.

GRHRCH Erika's Stillwater Gunner 11/04/2008
